the wind, the sea, the sky and the storm on RedGage
On the left the latest add to my RedGage portfolio. This photo was taken back in 2009 in Poetto Beach, Cagliari – Sardinia, and indeed it does capture the wind, the sea, the blue sky and the ranging storm approaching all in a single frame.
I will keep adding more to RedGage in the next days, so stay tuned

I have added this work today my my RedGage portfolio, and will be adding a few more in the next couple of days. Shot was taken at sunset in Little Venice back few years ago.

the brook in regents park
I have been think for sometime to create an old style/vintage finish with blurred rounded edges … the one I used to see in my grandma grandpa photos. It has taken me a little wile to figure out how to create one I admit.
I have tried different combinations of finishing, colors, overlapping layers, effects and masks … I think this one is not too bad. At least I fell it is worth sharing as a first try
As for most of my latest posts this is also published on RedGage together with other selective colors studies I have worked on in the past weeks.

selective blue #2
I am quite enjoying experimenting with selective colors. Yes, really I think there is a bit more I can do to explore some more artistic – and maybe a bit more original – results
So … this time ’round I wanted to give a different feeling, and move away from the classical sharp edge contrast between the full color region and the b&w area. In this photo work I have decided to make the background in a pail sepia tone … just to give more of a vintage feeling. Second, but perhaps more important, I have also created a smoother transition region between the main subject and the background, avoiding a sharp edge between the subject and the background …
Does it work emotionally for you? I would like to have your opinion.
If useful I add here also a thumbnail of the full color image, just to have a reference view of the original colorful flower bed and a better impression of the change. By the way, the photo was taken in Rents Park – London with my Nikon camera.
You can see slightly bigger versions of both images on RedGage (for both the selective colors version and the full color one).

Selective colors study – read leaf on sepia background work. original image contained quite a lot of red flowers and green leaves too. i quite liked the idea to isolate a single red leaf in this work.
